SMU Equestrian Signs Four Riders to National Letters of Intent

DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU Equestrian team has signed four riders to National Letters of Intent for the 2010-11 season. The signees include Ramsey Hanson, Renick Townsend, Caroline Ellis and Lucy Blundon. 

Townsend comes from King's Academy in Wellington, Fla. She is a member of the girls' golf team at King's Academy in addition to her outside riding activities. This past summer she competed at the Vermont Summer Special, finishing in the top-25 in each event she entered. Renick has also won the FEI Children's Jumping Invitational in Bogotá, Colombia besting 43 riders from 12 countries. Through her junior year she had amassed a GPA of 3.55 at a school that has had at least 99% of its students go on to post-high school education each of the last four years.
